Base regulations state that a staff member needs to accompany visiting vessels, so I had to accompany the SeaBird, a large luxury schooner, for 3 days. I had to dive and snorkel and cruise and eat great food daily – it was terrible.
I’m volunteering on Aldabra Atoll, Seychelles, doing mainly biological monitoring on everything from butterflyfish to birds… Its one of the most remote places in the world, and a natural wonder. There is life EVERYWHERE! And the diving is something else… It is, without hyperbole, one of the most spectacular places on the planet. I love it!
